We are incredibly proud of Seals Class for showcasing their creativity in this year's Royal Cornwall Show. The children explored flower printing techniques to create clay tiles, which they then carefully painted using acrylic paints to highlight the beautiful imprints. Seals Class also worked collaboratively to create a collage of an endangered animal using natural resources. Living by the sea, we decided that a turtle would be the perfect choice for our artwork. The children searched our school grounds and local beach for natural treasures to include in their creation before carefully composing their turtle collage. The finished pieces are a wonderful celebration of the children's artistic skills, teamwork, and appreciation of the natural world. Well done, Seals Class! Thank you Reeve Massey for your support with this, we really appreciate you giving up your time.

This afternoon, the Seals class had a wonderful surprise when our mystery reader was revealed! Mo and Lundy's Auntie Julia kindly visited to share a story with us. She read Oww! by Michael Rosen, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We especially loved that the donkey turned out to be the hero of the story without even realising it! A huge thank you to Auntie Julia for giving up her time to come and read to us. We really appreciated your visit and enjoyed every minute of the story.

This month, we celebrated the 100th birthday of Sir David Attenborough! The children enjoyed learning all about his incredible life and work through a special project dedicated to him. They created fascinating animal fact files, explored the importance of caring for our planet, and even took on the challenge of drawing 100 animals to celebrate 100 years of Sir David Attenborough! It was a wonderful way to recognise and celebrate someone who has inspired generations to appreciate and protect the natural world.

The sun shone for our Outdoor Learning Day and it was a huge success! The whole school enjoyed a morning of outdoor activities, working together and exploring nature through hands-on learning. Activities included creating sculptures based on works by Andy Goldsworthy, paired reading, making seed bombs, creating mud paint and painting mini beasts, building bird nests while thinking carefully about materials and construction, and designing rafts for caterpillars. The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and showed fantastic teamwork, perseverance, support for others and, most importantly, lots of joy throughout the day.

On Thursday, to celebrate Outdoor Classroom Day, Seals Class and Dolphins Class spent the afternoon at the beach. It was a wonderful opportunity for cross-phase collaborative learning, with the children enjoying a range of exciting outdoor activities together. They searched for beach treasures, discovered crabs and baby fish, painted pebbles, built sandcastles, made dams, and shared stories with one another. The afternoon was filled with creativity, teamwork, and exploration, helping the children to learn through play in the natural environment. #OutdoorClassroomDay #LoveLearning #CollaborativeLearning
